A WWII era aircraft survival axe.

Length: 37 cm.

 

WWII allied aircraft were equipped with such axes to assist the crew in escaping from it in a crash. These sturdy steel axes had insulated rubber handles designed to allow the axe to be used to cut through live electrical cables.
