The binoculars were produced for naval observation and navigation, and can also be used aboard yachts for fishing, viewing wildlife and astronomy. This model is still used by Navies and Comet chasers. The specifications are 15 times magnification, 80 mm objective diameter, and 4 degree wide field of view. The optics are Fujinon multilayer coated which produce a very bright sharp image when in use all times of the day. These binoculars were formerly deck mounted aboard ships, and now are mounted on a light wood tripod with height adjustment.
